Body Armor Protection, aka body armour, personal protection, a suit or coat of armor, is a protective vest or jacket designed to absorb or deflect physical attacks, especially from firearms and other weapons such as knives or projectiles.
First used to protect the military, it is also used by various law enforcement (riot police and border patrol), private security guards, body guards, and civilians.
Today there are two main types: regular non-plated body armor for moderate to substantial protection.
And hard plates that reinforce body armor for maximum protection, such as used by combat soldiers.
